Madball

Madball is a New York-based hardcore band that originated in the late 1980s, as a side-project of Agnostic Front (where Agnostic Front's front man Roger Miret would let his younger brother, Freddy "Madball" Cricien take the microphone on lead vocals during Agnostic Front shows).
Madball was founded in 1988 and featured most of Agnostic Front's members. Madball consisted of Agnostic Front's vocalist Roger Miret on bass, Vinnie Stigma on guitar, Will Shepler on drums, and vocalist Freddy Cricien, Roger Miret's younger brother. Madball's first few gigs consisted of unused Agnostic Front songs. Madball's first release was the Ball of Destruction EP in 1989. After years of playing regional shows in and around the New York area, a second guitarist, Matt Henderson, would join the band. By then, they recorded and released the EP Droppin' Many Suckers for Wreckage Records. One year later Roger Miret left the band, and was replaced by bass player Hoya Roc — a good friend of Freddy Cricien — who was looking for a new band as his band, Dmize, was breaking up. The new incarnation of the band was signed by Roadrunner Records in 1994 and released a pair of full-lengths; Set It Off in 1994 and Demonstrating My Style in 1996. Touring steadily, the band built a sizable fan base outside their hometown.
1995 saw the band participating in the N.Y.H.C. Documentary. Extensive interviews were conducted with Freddy as well as a performance on July 29, 1995 at the now-defunct "Coney Island High". Freddy's brother, Roger, broke several vertebrae in his back at that show, requiring him to be in traction for the better part of a year.
Consisting of Cricien, Henderson, Hoya, and new drummer John Lafata, the band recorded Look My Way, which was released in early 1998. Hold It Down followed two years later. The band briefly broke up from early 2001 until late 2002. The line-up of Freddy Cricien, Hoya Roc, Mitts (ex-Skarhead), and Rigg Ross (ex-Hatebreed) began touring and recording at the end of 2002. Since then, Madball has come out with: Best of Madball in 2003, N.Y.H.C. EP (EP) in 2004, Legacy in 2005, and Infiltrate The System in 2007. In 2009, Rigg Ross left to join Skarhead and was replaced by Ben Dussault.
Along with bands such as Agnostic Front, Vietnom, Bulldoze, Resistance and H2O, they comprise a part of New York's DMS Crew. Vocalist Cricien and bass player Hoya are also in the band Hazen Street, along with members of H2O and Cro-Mags.
In 2010, after the departure of the Ferret Records owners from the label, Madball followed them to their new and present label Good Fight Music. In February 2010 Madball signed a deal with Nuclear Blast for the European release of their new studio album, Empire, produced by Erik Rutan. Jay Weinberg, son of E Street Band and Max Weinberg 7 drummer Max Weinberg, joined Madball for the album and for touring.
Madball then dismissed Weinberg in September 2010, citing personality conflicts. Weinberg said that he had already quit the group by that time, due to lifestyle issues. They are currently touring with Born From Pain's drummer Igor Wouters.
watch out also for the upcoming tour of madball this year..

Pantera

Pantera was an American heavy metal band from Arlington, Texas. Formed by the Abbott brothers, Vinnie Paul (drums) and Dimebag Darrell (guitar) in 1981, bassist Rex Brown would join in late 1981 with vocalist Terry Glaze. Looking for a new and heavier sound, Pantera had Terry replaced in 1987 with Phil Anselmo as the new vocalist.
Pantera has sold around 20 million albums. Starting as a glam metal band, Pantera played a heavier groove and thrash sound when they released Cowboys from Hell in 1990. Their second album Vulgar Display of Power, released in 1992, revealed a heavier sound than Cowboys from Hell and their 1994 release of Far Beyond Driven debuted at No.1 in the Billboard 200.
Tensions began to surface amongst the band members when Phil Anselmo became addicted to heroin in 1995. This resulted in the recording sessions for The Great Southern Trendkill to be held separately. The ongoing tensions lasted for another seven years, in which only one studio album, Reinventing the Steel was released. Feeling that Anselmo had abandoned Pantera due to his time away from the band, the Abbott brothers disbanded Pantera in 2003 and subsequently formed Damageplan. Any hopes of a reunion were lost on December 8, 2004, when Dimebag Darrell was shot and killed onstage by a mentally unstable fan during a Damageplan performance.

Rebelution

Rebelution is a reggae band from Santa Barbara, California. Current members of Rebelution are Eric Rachmany, Rory Carey, Wesley Finley, and Marley Williams. Matt Velasquez left the group shortly after the release of their first album, Courage to Grow, on which he wrote and sung about half of the songs.

PROVOKE

PROVOKE are a straight up, in your face, no bullshit hardcore band. Formed in early 2005, they independently released their self titled EP in 2006 which sold out and was repressed with new artwork and released by Pee Records in 2008 to coincide with the release of their debut album "This Is Real". "This Is Real" is the product of four years of understated achievement which has seen the band share the stage with local and international acts such as Mindsnare, Toe-To-Toe, Agnostic Front, Stronghold, Against, Most Precious Blood, Strength Approach, Watch Your Step, Mouthguard and many more, while building a loyal and diverse following crossing over the hardcore, punk and even metal scenes. PROVOKE's approach to music is to cut the shit and get down to business, a sound that has been compared to New York style hardcore, fans of Madball, Agnostic Front, Skarhead, Cro-Mags and Sick Of It All will love what they hear.

La Coka Nostra

La Coka Nostra (short LCN) is an American hip hop group composed of EverlastDJ LethalDanny BoyIll Bill and Slaine.
La Coka Nostra Founded in late 2005 with no intention to record an album, La Coka Nostra was more a loose collective of artists connected through Danny Boy than a group. Having taken time off from rap after the break-up of House of Pain, Danny Boy took to working in video production and fashion as well as mentoring other artists. He met Slaine in Boston and, impressed with his writing, brought him to L.A. to record some tracks. Eventually it turned into more of a group effort including the former members of House of Pain and Ill Bill, as well as associates fromPsycho Realm, Special Teamz and others. It was not until early 2006 that the current line up solidified, plans to release an album were first voiced later the same year.
In late 2008 the group signed to Suburban Noize Records and released the long delayed debut album A Brand You Can Trust on July 14, 2009. The album took so long to complete due to Danny Boy's refusal to have the members collaborate via e-mail; instead, he would gather everyone at the studio. This took time due to the recording of Ill Bill and Everlast's solo albums as well as various tours and other commitments. A Brand You Can Trust features 15 tracks and guest spots from Snoop DoggBun BSick JackenB-RealSen Dog,Immortal TechniqueBig Left and Q-Unique. Though similar stylistically to the group's prior online releases, it features songs grounded more in reality. Some subjects touched upon include politics, death, drug addiction, raising a child and terrorism. It has been stated by Slaine that the group is working on their second full length release and that it is set to come out sometime in 2012.

h2o-nothing to prove

Punk veterans H2O come back with their first new album Since 2001's mediocre "Go." Preaching that they have "Nothing To Prove" and that they are "Still Here," the band maintains their tried-and-true formula of hardcore punk mixed in with catchy choruses and a cleaner vocal style.

As is the subject with many of the older hardcore punk bands, H2O's lyrics are generally positive; filled with songs of friends watching each other's backs and never backing down. Unlike much of the garbage "heavy" music scene today, H2O doesn't show angst and anger just for the sake of doing so; the lyrics, while simplistic, as they've always been, are very heartfelt and H2O manages to bring out the best of us through their lyrics and performance, unlike the steadily declining modern hardcore scene, which is filled with makeup-wearing scene kids doing their ridiculous pig squeals and playing their dark, (though fakely) cryptic lyrics.

As for the album itself, it's what you'll expect. People who will buy this album are people who are clearly fans of either H2O, or at the very least this particular genre of music. It's got good, catchy hooks, it's produced just enough to not sound like either early Misfits mixtapes nor like Angels and Airwaves, and the musicianship is very tight, including a nice solo in the song "Unconditional."

In short, yes, this is H2O, yes, it's way better than "Go," yes, they are indeed aging, but no, that does not at all affect this bands fantastic work ethic, positive lyrics and most importantly the necessary angst.

New Album Coming Soon...

Hatebreed History

Hatebreed was formed in 1994 in BridgeportWaterbury and New Haven. They began by recording a three song demo and selling it to locals. Those three songs would eventually be released on a split seven inch with New York's Neglect in 1995. They followed that up with the highly acclaimed EP Under the Knife in 1996, and went out on tour around the east coast/midwest with the UKHC band Voorhees. The following year they released Satisfaction is the Death of Desire on Victory Records, then the home of some of the biggest bands inmetalcoreSatisfaction sold more copies than any other debut in the history of the record company.
Tours with national metal bands such as SlayerDeftonesEntombed and Napalm Death influenced their music and brought them to the attention of many non-hardcore/metalcore fans. These influences were apparent on the band's next two releases, 2002's Perseverance, and especially 2003's The Rise of Brutality.
After the release of The Rise of Brutality, the band took part in the 2004 Unholy Alliance tour in Europe with SlayerSlipknot andMastodon. In June, 2006, Hatebreed went on an extensive European tour which included a performance at the Download Festival in Donnington, UK. Immediately following this European tour, they played the main stage at Ozzfest 2006 alongside DragonForceLacuna CoilAvenged SevenfoldDisturbed, and co-headliners System of a Down.
The band's fourth album, Supremacy, was released in August, 2006, their first through Roadrunner Records, featuring new guitarist Frank Novinec (who had previously spent time playing with RingwormTerror, and Integrity). Jasta described it as an "all-out onslaught of completely adrenaline-charged, in-your-face brutality".
On September 13, 2006, former guitarist Lou "Boulder" Richards committed suicide at the age of 35; he had played on 1997'sSatisfaction Is The Death Of Desire and left the band in 2002. Hatebreed announced the statement:."
Hatebreed headlined the second stage on the 2007 Ozzfest tour. Hatebreed appeared at Wacken Open Air festival in 2008 alongside Iron MaidenChildren of Bodom, and Avantasia. In April 2008, Hatebreed signed a worldwide deal with Koch Records for the release of their live DVD, a live album, and a cover album entitled "For The Lions", which was released on May 5. On September 2, they released their concert DVD, entitled "Live Dominance". Artists covered included MetallicaD.R.I.Crowbar, and the Cro-Mags.
On February 9, 2009 Guitarist Sean Martin quit the band. Sean quit the band to pursue other interests in music that are more studio-related. However, Sean remains close to and in contact with Hatebreed members.
Hatebreed's fifth studio album, entitled Hatebreed, has been released September 29, 2009. In May 2009, the band also released For the Lions, a record consisting of covers of songs by artists that have influenced the band's development.
In 2010, Hatebreed participated in the third annual Mayhem Festival, alongside 3 Inches of BloodShadows Fall, and other bands. On February 17, 2011, it was announced that Hatebreed would partake in the fourth annual Mayhem Festival to yet again headline the Jägermeister stage for 3 dates only.
